Why Cow Protection
Cows have been considered sacred animals since ancient times, as a cow is considered a family member in many parts of India, mainly for Hindus. The cow is not just a source of revenue but has been the source of both giving us food and maintaining the ecological balance in nature. Cows are considered the purest form of life on earth by Hindus for their milk and dairy products. For centuries, cow urine and cow dung have been highly valued.
Panchagavya (Cowpathy) is an ancient system of medicine that has had a very high place in Ayurveda for 5000 years. But this type of therapeutic approach has not been given due importance in the past. Ayurvedic medicines of animal origin are mainly prepared from cow products and named Panchagavya, which means five items received from cows: milk, curd, ghee, urine, and dung.
The Kamdhenu Ark Prepared from cow urine was found to augment D- and T-lymphocyte blastogenesis; lgG, IgA, and IgM antibody titers in mice. It has been observed that cow urine has increased the phagocytic activity of macrophages and thus is helpful in preventing and control of bacterial infections. It also increases the secretion of interleukin-1 and interleukin-2. Thus, Cow urine has been found to modulate immunity in a positive manner that can be used as an immunomodulatory drug in animals.
